The bullpen carried us again. Dana Eveland pitched 3 scoreless innings. Kevin Gregg was sharp again. The O’s are now 24-14. 12-5 on the road. 5-2 in extra innings—6 wins a row on the road
The Long Island Lizards have dealt perennial all-star Nicky Polanco to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in a deal that gives Long Island the rights to Duke long-stick midfielder C.J. Costabile, multiple sources confirmed to Inside Lacrosse.
The deal ends speculation about Polanco’s future, as the two-time MLL Defensive Player of the Year has not played in the Lizards’ two games this year. It also reunites Polanco with former defensive partner Brian Spallina, who this offseason was picked up by the Bayhawks.

The first midfield of Drew Snider, John Haus and Mike Chanenchuk were terrific and played like warriors.
Snider played like a guy who wasn’t ready for his collegiate career to be over. The fifth-year senior scored two of his three goals in the fourth quarter to help the Terps erase an 8-6 deficit at the end of the third. But the goals were only part of the story as it is the “1” in the stat line under the heading … Read More »
Chen was pitching a hit out until he got Jeffrey Maiered on a 2 Run “HR” by Curtis Granderson. The bullpen came in and saved the game. With a few timely hits the O’s could have scored 15. But outside of being annoyed by many Yankee fans, it was a great night to be at the ballpark. Xavier Avery … Read More »
While Quint, Mark Dixon, and all of the inside lacrosse experts will probably be lining up on in the corner of Johns Hopkins in Saturday’s rematch, remember this fact –In game one Mike Poppleton won 14 of 19 face-offs from Curtis Holmes and Charlie Raffa. Yet Maryland prevailed 9-6. This rarely happens in lacrosse and I can promise there will be no such domination on Saturday. Charlie Raffa has been coming into his own and the wings of Maryland will … Read More »
Reggie Miller criticized Steve Blake no less then 10 times. Without Blake the lakers would have gone fish in already. Kobe better start thinking about guarding Westbrook because if he doesn’t this series could be a sweep.
I have to admit Doug Collins coached his butt off last nigt as Philly defeated the Celtics 82-81 to even up the series at 1. Celtics will win in 6.

Pathetic. Optimism is slowly creeping away as the Orioles gave away the game last night. Chris Davis 0-4 and 1 extremely costly error. Amazing that 16.000 braved the elements to attend the game. No lightning no postponement. Ridiculous.
Some of my many thoughts as we begin Hopkins Week #2:
Over the past decade 2 Terrapin clutch goals stand out for me. 31 was Andrew Schwartzman’s goal against Gtown to get the Terps into the Final Four. #2 was last year’s OT goal by Grant Catalino to propel the Terps to the Final Four. Now there is a 3rd –and that is Joe Cummings goal tonight. It is fitting that Joe was just named Terrapin Male Athlete of the … Read More »
The O’s lost a heartbreaker to Tampa Sunday 9-8, but remain 1st place. The Yankees come to town tonight for a brief 2 game series.
The Clippers upset Memphis on the road in game 7. Coach Vinnie Del Negro used Chris Paul and 4 bench players in the 4th quarter. Basically, Blake Griffin watch the 4th quarter from the bench. Gutsy but Blake didn’t sulk even a little bit.
Matt Kuchar won the Players Championship proving Good Guys can come … Read More »
