Korey Wacker went 5-for-5 with a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh and Maryland matched a season high with 15 hits to defeat No. 12 Miami 6-4 Sunday afternoon.
Wacker, who became the first Maryland player with five hits in a game since 2007, was one of four Terps with multiple hits. Jordan Hagel went 4-for-5, and Michael Montville and K.J. Hockaday both had a pair of hits.
Closer Jimmy Reed, entered in the seventh and pitched a season-high three scoreless innings. Reed, … Read More »
Great news for the Terps as Coach Turgeon and his staff have received a verbal from the rising combo guard. My guess would be that Turgeon is bringing in Sam as a point guard. What an outside shot he has. Like father like son!!!!
Williams starting To Hit His Stride
By Fred Werber
Hindsight is great. Everyone would have invested in Apple. New Coke never would have left the drawing board. And Nets rookie Jordan Williams would have come to training camp in something resembling shape and condition.
But he didn’t so he learned the hard way and now in the twilight of his admittedly “up-and-down” rookie season, he is trying to cram as much learning and NBA education as he can into his … Read More »
Bradlee scored 5 goals on Friday night as Conestoga defeated #1 in the nation Calvert Hall.

Coach Brenda Frese was still in a back … Read More »
For what it’s worth.
I picked Louisville and Ohio State this morning on the Sports Maven. I just believe that Louisville is on a roll. Pitino’s team is the only team that could beat Kentucky but first The Colonels errrrrrrrrrrr Wildcats have to get past Baylor. That will not be a problem. Kendall Marshall practiced on Saturday for Carolina but I am not sure that Kansas can beat the Heels even without Marshall.
It was a clear KO for Kevin Cooper over Greg McBride that actually led to a man advantage for Maryland, but Carolina won the war in the end. Down 11-9 with 40 seconds remaining in the game, Kevin Cooper hit Greg McBride late and received a flag. McBride retaliated by hitting Cooper low. A major mistake. Cooper leveled McBride with a series of haymakers and was finally knocked off his opponent by 4 or 5 Tar heels. Two penalties were … Read More »
Karri Ellen Johnson and Katie Schwarzmann combined for eight goals as the No. 4 Maryland women’s lacrosse team topped James Madison 14-8 on the road Saturday.
Johnson and Schwarzmann also dominated at the draw for the Terps, recording seven and five respectively, to lead Maryland (9-2, 2-1 ACC). Kristy Black and Alex Aust registered two goals apiece. Aust also added three assists and boasts 11 points in the last two games. Schwarzmann tallied her fourth consecutive hat trick and her fifth in the … Read More »
