No. 6 Syracuse edged the No. 3 Maryland women’s lacrosse team 10-9 to snap the Terps’ 36-game home winning streak Saturday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
Despite holding a distinct advantage in nearly every statistical category including shots in which it trumped the Orange 30-20, Maryland (5-2, 1-1 ACC) picked up its second loss this season. It was the first regular season loss at home in head coach Cathy Reese’s six-year tenure. Sophomore Beth Glaros led Maryland with a hat trick … Read More »

BY ADAM ZAGORIA ON MARCH 09, 2012, 1:39PM
Maryland landed 6-8 power forward Charles Mitchellof Marietta, Ga., Thursday but his addition to the Terps doesn’t impact their top targets for 2013: twinsAndrew and Aaron Harrison.
“Would it be bad if I said I didn’t know who that was?”Aaron Harrison Sr. asked SNY.tv when informed of Mitchell’s commitment.
Mitchell also considered Tennessee, Florida State, … Read More »
Without question it was the best the Terps looked all season. But we have to realize it was against a very weak Wake Forest team. Nonetheless the Terps performed like a good team should when playing an inferior opponent. Quick analysis;
Stogs—25 points on 14 shots, 4 assists, 7 rebounds an ALL ACC performance
Nick–31st game with major minutes 18 points 1 TURNOVER!!!!
Len Pankey and Padgett—11-16 from the field
Captain Sean Mosley–same glue guy as always

The ACC Tournament started well for the Maryland Terrapins, even before the game tipped off. At around 11:45 a.m. ET, big man Charles Mitchell (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler) phoned in his commitment to Mark Turgeon, about an hour before the Terps tipped against Wake Forest. Florida State, Seton Hall and Tennessee had intentions of signing Mitchell, but Maryland won out.
Forget who was recruiting Mitchell and let’s focus on what he brings to the table. Mitchell’s always been a productive player in the post. … Read More »

The story for tonight’s game is how impressed I was with the new facility at Steveson. First of all it’s only about 5 minutes from my house. Parking couldn’t be much easier. The facility is beyond belief–I labeled it the Best D3 Facility in the world. The seats for the fans are a high pitch so the person in front of you could be 6’5 and it wouldn’t matter. The whole setting is serene.

Behind superb pitching yet again, the 20th-ranked Terrapins beat Navy 4-2 Wednesday afternoon to capture their 10th consecutive victory and improve to 11-1 overall. In the last 88 years the school has had a better start just once – when it opened 12-1 in 1967. This year’s squad will have the chance to match that record when it opens Atlantic Coast Conference play Friday at Wake Forest.
On Wednesday, the Terps got their 11th victory of the year in familiar fashion. Read More »
