Maryland senior Casey Townsend and junior John Stertzer garnered NSCAA Division I Men’s Soccer All-America honors Friday.

Townsend,a forward from Traverse City, Mich., was named a second-team selection. The MAC MAC Hermann Trophy recorded first team All-ACC honors for the second straight year as one of the nation’s top goal-scorers in 2011. The captain racked up 17 goals for the Terps.

Some observations of today’s game:

I had a choice today with all of the Terrapin teams off. Army Navy or Loyola vs the Mount at Knott Arena. Because I am getting over a cold and wanted to go to the Ravens game and because I have never taken the 50 minute drive to Emmitsburg to see Knott Arena, I opted for hoops. The fact that I had to deal with Fed EX access and egress helped a ;ittle.

Captain Coach Killer (Ovie) could have had 5 goals if he just finished last night. Look out when he breaks out of the scoring slump. his game is still on a different level, the only problem is that the puck is not finding the net.
