It is inconceivable to me that Desmond Hubert chose obscurity with Roy Williams at Carolina instead of a probable starting role with the Terrapins. Now the Kansas State transfer seems like he is 50-50 between Maryland and Rutgers. I just don’t get it. It would be great for the Terps to land a player from the DC Assault AAU program. Stay tuned.

Only incredible saves by Michael Neuvirth kept this game respectable. Who is to blame for the 3rd period breakdown by the Capitals. Please don’t talk about lucky goals. Hopkins is now #3 behind Cuse and Cornell while The Irish are at #4. That could set up a potential 4-5 matchup of the Terps and Notre Dame. It was Notre Dame that knocked out the Terps last year eventually costing Dave Cottle his job.
All American Shamel Bratton was dismissed from the Cavalier team. Coach Dom Starsia refused to elaborate on the specific reasons this happened but I am searching for the answers as I write.
Derek Lee hit a meaningless 9th inning HR as the O’s lost the final game of a 4game series 6-2 to Chicago. The Nats continue with excellent pitching as Tom Gorzelanny pitched 8 shutout inningsina 2-0 victory over San Francisco. Ironically the O’s are 13-14 and the Nats are 14-14. On to KC for the O’s.
