Maryland swept the league weekly awards Tuesday as Karri Ellen Johnson and Katie Schwarzmann were tabbed Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. Johnson scored five goals and added an assist to lead No. 1 Maryland to its’ first ACC win this season against No. 3 Duke, 18-11. The junior moved into sixth all-time in career goals at Maryland with 160. Schwarzmann coupled her third five-goal performance this season with a phenomenal defensive effort against Duke.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – David Carroll pitched 7 1/3 shutout innings, Brandon Padula hit a first-inning home run and Maryland took a 3-0 victory over Army Saturday afternoon.

Carroll (2-0) was dominant in his second start for the Terps, scattering five hits while striking out four. Michael Boyden came on to record the final five outs and earn the save as Maryland improved to 4-3.
