Maryland is one of eight teams that will compete in the 2011 Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Nov. 17, 18, and 20 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. In addition to the Terps, the field for the fifth annual Puerto Rico Tip-Off includes Alabama, Colorado, Iona, Purdue, Temple, Western Michigan and Wichita State. Both Purdue and Temple reached the second round of the NCAA Championship.
Maryland will hold its annual Red-White spring football game on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. The game caps off the Terps’ five-week spring practice period under first-year head coachRandy Edsall and culminates Maryland Day, an annual campus open house which gets underway at 10 a.m. Admission to the game is free. Gates will open at noon for an autograph session (12:30 to 1:30 p.m.) with Edsall and the players.
