The Maryland men’s lacrosse team won a thriller vs. sixth-seeded Towson in the NCAA First Round Sunday, overcoming a four-goal deficit before senior Louis Dubick buried the game-winner in overtime to top the Tigers, 14-13.  

Jared Bernhardt came through with a clutch goal to keep the Terps alive, netting his second goal of the day with just three seconds left in regulation before Dubick’s OT heroics.

Better to lose today then over the next 3 weeks. Maryland, unbeaten until today, has played the toughest schedule possible and won every game. It all starts from scratch this weekend.

The worrying is over. Despite the hopeful thoughts of Maryland haters like we heard all day, the committee got it right and selected the team that spent most of the season at #2 for one of the final at large bids ,in the tournament.

The “reward” for being one of the last at large bids is a road game against a superb well rounded Towson Tiger team. What a battle it will be.
