When Intern Mason got home yesterday he shouted, “We got Sticks!!!”. “Sticks” refers to the composite 29th ranked player in the 2018 class, Jalen Smith. Depending the how the 2018 recruiting class shakes out (more on that later) Sticks could end up as a starter in the 2018-2019 basketball season. Projected starting center Michal Cekovsky will be a senior in 2017, the other big men on the roster (Rising Junior Ivan Bender, and Freshmen Bruno … Read More »

Jalen “Sticks” Smith is a consensus top 35 recruit, who, at 5:10pm, committed to be a Maryland Terrapin. Sticks is a 6’10” power forward and a member of the highly anticipated 2018 recruiting class. Originating from Mt. Saint Joseph of Baltimore, Sticks has long been considered a Maryland lean. He will join high school teammate Darryl Morsell (class of 2017) in suiting up for the Terps in 2018. Smith is ranked 42nd by 24/7, 37th … Read More »

It’s time for Terp fans to start trusting the process. Melo Trimble was, as we knew was a possibility, undrafted last night. Melo will still get his chance though, he was signed last night at 10:48pm in the unofficial “3rd round of the draft”, the frenzied hours immediately following the draft to sign undrafted rookies. Due to his status as an undrafted free agent Melo will have to fight tooth and nail to earn a … Read More »
19 straight games the O’s pitching staff has allowed 5 or more runs. The definition of an effective start for the O’s is unclear.
Great news on the O’s front–Buck and his wife became grand parents yesterday. A dose of super reality for Buck and Angela. Enjoy him!!!!!!

One thing we learned last night. Melo Trimble was a probable 1st round pick after his Freshman year. Most Terrapin fans believed if he returned to College Park it would enhance his draft position. The result — after a relatively strong Junior season, he was among many superb Collegiate players bypassed in a mainly meaningless 2nd round of the NBA draft. Many of the players drafted will never even come to the US to attempt to play. Alpha Kaba? 16 … Read More »
