Recovering from a brutal Orlando trip. The Sports Maven will be on Saturday at 9AM as usual.
MY TAKE: Coaches like Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich display total disrespect for the fans by resting some of their superstars on certain road games. First of all the teams often charge high tiered pricing when the Spurs, Warriors, etc come to town. And many fans pay excessive charges to purchase Stub Hub or brokered tickets. Then to be told on game day that Curry, Klay Thompson, KD and Iguodala won’t suit up is a disgrace. Fans are left holding … Read More »
Senior attacker Caroline Wannen posted six points as the No. 1 Maryland women’s lacrosse team (7-0, 1-0 B1G) opened conference play with a 17-4 win over No. 16 Johns Hopkins (7-2, 0-1) Sunday afternoon.
“We started a little slow, but I think as the game progressed, we settled in a little bit,” head coach Cathy Reese said. “We did a lot better in the second half on the draw, and on fighting for possessions and … Read More »

The No. 4 Maryland men’s lacrosse team scored four goals in the final seven minutes of play to force overtime but ultimately fell short against visiting Villanova, 13-12, Saturday at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
The Terrapins trailed by a five-goal deficit three separate times in the game, but showed great resolve in fighting back against the Wildcats. Senior Jon Garino, Jr., played a major role in Maryland’s turnaround, winning 15-of-18 faceoffs and collecting 13 ground balls.
