In the spirt of NBA free agency, I recently sat down with the organizer behind the #FireErnie campaign Matthew Mason. Matthew, like seemingly every Wizards fan these days, is fed up with General Manager Ernie Grunfeld, the difference is Matthew decided to do something about it.

For anyone already sold the link is https://www.gofundme.com/gfvfh-fire-ernie-grunfeld.

Q: Hi Matthew, welcome to Terptalk! To start with, where are you from and how long have you been a Wizards fan?

A: I’ve been … Read More »

A particularly fed up Wizards fan has started a GoFundMe.com campaign to fire GM Ernie Grunfeld. From the Reddit post

“I thought I’d make an update post on where the campaign stands currently. I’ve spent a good number of hours calling ad agency doing research etc., and I think with the amount of money it looks like we’ll be able to raise we have two options.

Option 1: A DC metro AD, which are the screens … Read More »

It has been rumored for a while that the Wizards were looking to trade center Marcin Gortat, well, it finally happened. As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards will send the Polish Hammer to the LA Clippers in exchange for combo guard Austin Rivers.

This certainly raises more questions than it answers for the Wizards, but looks like a decent trade for the Wizards, we will have more reaction in the coming days.

The Verizon Center has officially been re-branded as the “Capital One Arena”. Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post broke the story first saying “Monumental will also announce a separate $40 investment in the privately owned arena, with the money going toward projects such as Monumental360 — a data-based effort to analyze fan preferences — and a new point-of sale system, meant to create more efficient lines. That system will likely offer discounts to Capital One cardholders.” I have to assume … Read More »

The Wizards didn’t have a single pick the 2017 NBA draft, but they were still busy. First let’s recap what happened to the Wizards picks

1st round (22nd pick)- Part of a trade for Bojan Bogdanovic at the 2017 in-season trade deadline. Wizards received: Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris Mccullough. Nets received: Wizards lottery protected first rounder, Marcus Thornton, and Andrew Nicoloson (more importantly, his contract).

2nd round (52nd pick)- Straight trade for Pelicans backup … Read More »

The Wizards, at least for now, have fixed their backup point guard problem. The team announced yesterday that the Wizards have dealt their 2nd round pick in exchange for New Orleans Pelicans backup point guard Tim Frazier. This seems like a good value for the Wizards, 2nd round draft picks often take a few years to contribute, that is if they contribute at all. Additionally, the Wizards already have several long-term projects on the roster (Daniel … Read More »

The Wizards are now the 27th team in the NBA to own a G-League (formally known as D-League, G stands for Gatorade) team. The team will play at the Wizards new practice facility starting in fall 2018, which in addition to being the home of the G-League club, will also be the Mystics home floor. The yet to be named arena will be located at the site of the former psychiatric hospital, St. Elizabeth, on the … Read More »

Two things are true: Greivis Vasquez is planning an NBA comeback after a lengthy rehab, and the Wizards are in desperate need of a backup point guard who can stretch to play shooting guard. Potential Match??? Somehow no one put these two together until a 106.7 and 105.7 the fan interview recently. When Greivis was asked if he wanted to play for his hometown Wizards, he responded: “That’s the plan. Hopefully they’re interested, obviously they want to see me healthy…” … Read More »

O’s seem to be in free fall losing another 1 run game to the Tigers. Dylan Bundy just didn’t have it. Good to see Crush back in form as he hit his 9th HR.

Harry Kane scored 4 goals against his former squad–Leicester in a 6-1 romping of last year’s champs by Tottenham. Kane has taken a 2 goal lead at 26 in his 2nd straight quest for the Golden Boot.

This idiotic argument on the play of Ian Poulter … Read More »
