UConn hasn’t been in too many close games during its current 47-game winning streak. For 40 minutes on Monday night, Maryland went toe-to-toe with the No. 1 team in the country, unlike any had during the Huskies’ current run.

In the 2015 national semifinal game, the UConn Huskies bit right through Maryland’s shell on their way to a 23 point thrashing of the Terrapins. Tonight, the teams met at Madison Square Garden in Maryland’s first truly meaningful game of the season. The resurgence of Men’s Basketball finishing 14-4 in the Big Ten, defeating Wisconsin at home, going 9-0 in conference at home, making the NCAA Tournament, and getting a win in the 1st round.  The hiring of DJ Durkin as Head Coach and the creation of hopefully a recruiting machine at Maryland.  The sudden mid season end of the 5 year era of Coach Edsall at Maryland as the Terps wound up 3-9 on the year with only 1 conference win.Read More »

No spin here–I never saw this victory coming. I gave the Ravens little or no chance of victory today. Playing against one of the hottest teams in the NFL, playing with a discarded QB who had only been with the Ravens for 12 days, the Ravens did it–pulled off one of its biggest upsets ever, and perhaps ruined the Steelers season as well.
