The SB Nation site Swish Appeal has reported that Maryland women’s basketball, star point Guard Lexie Brown has requested her release from Maryland and will transfer for the 2015-16 season. Make no bones about it–this one really hurts. After a miraculous game and victory over Johns Hopkins on Saturday, I never saw this kind of a game coming. It was almost a carbon copy of the NCAA Championship loss to Loyola. “I think she’s a great player. Watching her on film, she’s obviously very committed, she works hard on the field. Even when she doesn’t have the ball in her stick, I think she gives them a tremendous boost on the ride. She plays with a lot of confidence and swagger and just pure instinct. Unfortunately, she is NOT graduating this year, so we have to deal with her for another three years. She’s great.”

Tonight it was the McDonogh connection of Taylor Cummings and Megan Whittle that completed the final step to the promised land for the Terps.
