Maryland men’s basketball coach Mark Turgeon announced on Tuesday that freshman center Trayvon Reed has been diagnosed with a fractured right ankle. Reed sustained the ankle injury this past April in high school.

 The injury was further evaluated during his pre-participation physical and the fracture was discovered at that time. Reed is expected to miss 8-to-12 weeks and the injury will not require surgery.
