Maryland running back Wes Brown was arrested Wednesday night and charged with second-degree assault, theft and wiretapping, a University of Maryland Police Department spokesman said Friday.

According to the arrest report, Brown was being questioned by a Baltimore Police Department detective on the south edge of campus near Jason’s Deli and the 7-11 along Baltimore Avenue. Panathinaikos Athens re-signed forward James Gist for two more seasons, the Greek champs announced Monday. Gist (2.06 meters, 26 years old) joined the Greens in a mid-season trade with Unicaja Malaga and proceeded to average 7.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 22 minutes over 19 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games in helping the team reach the playoffs.
