Incoming freshman offensive lineman Derwin Gray will not enroll at the University of Maryland this fall due to academic issues, an individual with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday evening.
A hyped four-star recruit from local powerhouse Friendship Academy, Gray committed to Maryland last June over offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma. He represented an early cog in a local Terps movement to that later added teammate Yannick Ngakoue. Both participated in the Under Armour all-American game.
