Alyssa Thomas had the first triple-double in Atlantic Coast Conference tournament history, and No. 10 Maryland beat Wake Forest 92-81 in overtime in a quarterfinal Friday night.
Thomas – the league’s two-time player of the year – had a career-high 32 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for her second triple-double this season. She helped the second-seeded Terrapins (24-6) sidestep a major scare against a Wake Forest team they beat by 26 points five nights earlier.

Maryland senior Logan Aronhalt has been named to the 2012-13 All-ACC Academic team, which was announced Thursday by the league.
Aronhalt is averaging 6.2 points per game and shooting 45.5 percent from 3-point range. His 26-point effort against Boston College on Feb. 19 is the most points a Terp has scored this season.
Head coach Brenda Frese of the Maryland women’s basketball team was voted ACC Coach of the Year by the league’s head coaches and junior Alyssa Thomaswas named ACC Player of the Year by the Blue Ribbon Panel for the second straight season Thursday. Frese’s honor is her first by the conference in her 11 seasons at Maryland. Thomas is the first in school history to be named Player of the Year twice.

It seems like a broken record but once again the Terrapins’ NCAA hopes are on the line tonight. The last time we played Carolina, the Terrapin guards were 3-23 from the field with 12 turnovers and 2 assists. Minus his 5 turnovers, Dez was sensational scoring 21 on 8-11 shooting.
