However unlike the devastatingly insensitive remarks about NC State’s Tyler Lewis made by a small group of the Cameron Crazies, please no personal attacks.
16 steals tells the story of this game. Duke got away with some very physical play on the steals and overcame a 2nd half surge by Maryland. Every time Alyssa Thomas got the ball she was virtually grabbed, pushed, or knocked down but she only went to the line 3 times. Duke went to the line 22 times –Maryland 11. Brenda was so upset and concerned that she recieived a double technical and ejection with 3 minutes left. It was … Read More »
It’s midnight on Sunday almost exactly 1 week after the most thrilling sports victory in Baltimore in the 21st Century. The euphoria all baltimoreans felt a week ago may never be matched again. I already miss that feeling I had last Sunday when Josh Bynes tackled Ted Ginn and preserved the Ravens 2nd Super Bowl victory. Since then I have watched every show about the game and I still can’t get enough. Why?I don’t know. The topic of the Ravens … Read More »
My take on Coach K’s opinions and many other Big Ten related issues–(This is part 1 of a 5 part series on Maryland raw deal with the ACC)–As we wait for probably the final showdown at Comcast between Maryland and Duke this Saturday night, be aware on the following –the ACC led by the Bosses in Durham is absolutely infuriated with Maryland. To think anything else is naive. Nothing made this more evident then the insulting chants of the Duke … Read More »
The Maryland wrestling team closed out its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with a pair of wins at Duke and at NC State on Saturday. The Terps (12-7, 3-2 ACC) defeated the Blue Devils, 38-3, in their first match of the day and bested the Wolfpack, 22-19, in the second dual.
“The guys wrestled tough and scored a lot of points,” said head coach Kerry McCoy. “To go on the road and face two teams in one day is a … Read More »
The No. 4 Maryland women’s lacrosse team wasted little time getting its offense rolling in a 20-7 victory at Richmond Sunday in the 2013 season opener.
Seniors Alex Aust and Katie Schwarzmann led Maryland, combining for 10 points on seven goals and three assists. Beth Glaros, Kristen Lamon, Mattie Meredith and freshmen Halle Majorana and Taylor Cummings each netted two goals. Cummings added five draw controls as five freshmen saw their first action in a Maryland uniform.
Schwarzmann kicked off the Terps’ scoring with a … Read More »
Most of the times when a team shoots 58% from the 3 point line, a victory awaits. Today was no exception. Using their “small” lineup the Hoos jsut got on top and never looked back.
Justin Anderson who decommitted from Maryland when Gary retired, got off to a strong first half start with but then wilted down the stretch finishing with 5-14 and 14 points. The culprit of the day was Joe Harris shooting 7-8 from the field for … Read More »
Virginia (16-6, 6-3 ACC) is tied for third in the ACC standings, while Maryland (17-6, 5-5 ACC) is tied for sixth with NC State. Virginia is looking for its fourth straight win against Maryland and swept the two-game series between the teams last season.
The Cavaliers dominated in a 78-41 win over Clemson Thursday. Virginia’s 37-point win marked the largest margin of victory in an ACC game since Duke beat Maryland, 85-44, on Jan. 24, 2009. Junior Joe Harris (Chelan, Wash.) … Read More »
SHOULD RE-SIGN
QB Joe Flacco, LB Dannell Ellerbe.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard this already but Flacco is no longer under contract. The Ravens will either sign him to a long-term deal, put the franchise tag on him or handcuff him to Steve Bisciotti’s desk. The end result is all the same: He’s not leaving the Ravens.
If the Ravens had the cap room, they would bring back most of their free agents. That’s just not the reality of … Read More »
