The word of the day boys and girls is improbable.
Trailing by one with 3.3 seconds remaining in Maryland’s game against the Purdue Boilermakers, Eric Ayala stepped to the same free throw line where he had missed a free throw that would have tied the game just 45 seconds earlier. Ayala drew the foul after grabbing an offensive rebound off his own missed shot – only the third such rebound for the Terrapins all night. Given a … Read More »

Consistency hasn’t been Maryland’s calling card this season whether from game to game or, as it was in their latest game against the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers, from half to half. As they have for much of the season, the Terps followed a surprising road win – this one at Minnesota – with yet another disappointing offensive outing at home. Trailing the Badgers by 18 at the half, Maryland couldn’t quite complete a second half u-turn falling … Read More »
Tampa 31 Packers 26.
Never lay points to the GOAT. Tom Brady outplayed Aaron Rodgers whose inability to score TDs in the red zone ended the season for Packers nation.
HOWEVER, with 2:05 minutes left and 4th and goal from the 8 yard line down 31-23 opted to kick a FG to make the score 31-26. Here’s why this was really stupid:

An unrelenting defensive performance for the Maryland Terrapins allowed them to get out to an early lead and eventually become the first team to defeat the Minnesota Golden Gophers on their home court this season 63-49. Maryland held Minnesota to 30% shooting from the field and outrebounded the Golden Gophers by eight. The Terps earned their third win on the road against a ranked team this season in Big Ten play – the first time in program … Read More »

Maybe it wasn’t as big an upset as the “exoerts” are saying, but the nature of the victory was a shocker. Maryland got on top 17-3 and never looked back holding on to a double digit lead for almost the entire 2nd half.
The defense led by Darryl Morsell was suffocating as it was in the other 2 road upsets. The team defended the 3 as well as I have seen in the past 2 years as the Gophers shot … Read More »
Just a few observations of a totally one sided match:
18-21 effective leg kicks probably led to a brutal knockout of Conor
Conor blamed the loss on a lack of fights as he had not fought in a year
Conor looked slow and awkward and was bullied by the #2 ranked Lightweight
Both fighters have lost to Habib yet Habib is probably going to call it quits.
My take on McGregor which I have talked repeatedly about on my … Read More »
