The ACC Tournament started well for the Maryland Terrapins, even before the game tipped off. At around 11:45 a.m. ET, big man Charles Mitchell (Marietta, Ga./Wheeler) phoned in his commitment to Mark Turgeon, about an hour before the Terps tipped against Wake Forest. Florida State, Seton Hall and Tennessee had intentions of signing Mitchell, but Maryland won out.
Forget who was recruiting Mitchell and let’s focus on what he brings to the table. Mitchell’s always been a productive player in the post. … Read More »

The 2nd season starts today so let’s be positive and hope that the Terps can carry the energy they displayed in the 2nd half of the UVA game into today’s matchup. Coach Turgeon commented
“We’re just going to focus on Wake Forest. I think we also have to focus on mentally getting our guys ready. I think physically we have done a lot of the right things with our weight coach to try to get our guys’ legs underneath them.
The story for tonight’s game is how impressed I was with the new facility at Steveson. First of all it’s only about 5 minutes from my house. Parking couldn’t be much easier. The facility is beyond belief–I labeled it the Best D3 Facility in the world. The seats for the fans are a high pitch so the person in front of you could be 6’5 and it wouldn’t matter. The whole setting is serene.

Behind superb pitching yet again, the 20th-ranked Terrapins beat Navy 4-2 Wednesday afternoon to capture their 10th consecutive victory and improve to 11-1 overall. In the last 88 years the school has had a better start just once – when it opened 12-1 in 1967. This year’s squad will have the chance to match that record when it opens Atlantic Coast Conference play Friday at Wake Forest.
On Wednesday, the Terps got their 11th victory of the year in familiar fashion. Read More »
And I couldn’t be happier. As I have said many times just look at the bloodlines. Jr is a dead eye jump shooter just like his dad. His stock risen greatly most recently and my guess is so has the interest from Maryland. He is a natural for a Turgeon team. Terrapintimes.com reported today that the staff has made great strides in wooing the sharpshooter. Adding Jr and Charles Mitchell could very well elevate this recruiting class into a Top … Read More »

#2 Marco BourgaultPosition:
Height: 6-6
Class: Sophomore

High School: Notre Dame Prep HS
There are many dimensions to Marco’s game, but the facet that stands out the most is his ability to shoot the basketball and for a player his size, that’s impressive. He also has what Coach Brustad likes to call a “high basketball IQ” which backs up his variety of skills, … Read More »
Four Maryland pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts while holding Delaware to four hits and the Terps won their ninth straight with a 2-0 victory over the Blue Hens Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Michael Boyden, making his first start of the season, struck out a career-high nine in five innings, and relievers Charlie Haslup, Korey Wacker and Jimmy Reed shut down Delaware the rest of the way.
Boyden (2-0) cruised through the first four frames, striking out the side in the second and setting … Read More »
