Observations of a special night in College Park:

There is no doubt as to who is #1 in Field Hockey –unfortunately it’s Old Dominion. The Monarchs came to town undefeated and left the same way after a 5-2 thrashing of the Defending Nation Champions. However no dynasty is returning with the Monarchs. Their team is propped up by the 1 year addition of 2 Srs from the UK including Emma Batten one of the world’s best players.

Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have been one of the real surprise teams in the ACC this year and with each passing week, they move closer and closer to an Atlantic Division crown. Clemson ran a three-week gauntlet against powerhouses Auburn, Florida State and Virginia Tech and came out unscathed, making last weekend’s 36-14 win over Boston College at home seem anti-climatic. Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon

On the transition over the last five months:
“The most difficult thing was getting my family here. Traffic can be a pain in this area. Everything has been great. The people have really accepted me. I’m on a honeymoon with the media since I haven’t lost a game yet. The players have been working hard for me. If there have been any surprises they have been pleasant. I knew everything wasn’t going to be perfect … Read More »
