While I was on vacation last week, high atop mountains communing with nature, intrepid IL reporter Ty Xanders nailed the big news that Inside Lacrosse’s No. 1 junior recruit, attackman/midfielder Matt Rambo (La Salle College, Pa.), has verbally committed to Maryland. Buck is a great manager but it is obvious with the utter lack of pitching the Orioles are still a few years away from contending. The frustration of managing the Orioles could kill a donkey. We need to keep Buck in the system running the show.
It should be quite the night at Camden Yards Wednesday as Bosto and tampa enter the final day of the season with identical records. The O’s need to defeat Jon Lester, who has held a mastery over us for years.
Admittedly, one of the biggest mistakes Ralph ever made was renouncing the scholarship offer to Steve Slaton, who later as a Mountaineer just ran rampant over over the Terps. Today he was cut by Houston and stands as a free agent. I am sure it won’t be for long.
The third-ranked Maryland field hockey team (9-1) dominated Princeton, 6-2, Tuesday night at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Five different Terrapins scored as 19 Maryland players saw action in the game.
Junior co-captain Megan Frazer put the Terrapins on the board early with a penalty corner deflection less than four minutes in. Sophomore Ali McEvoy notched the assist.
