There was no way Missy’s players would let her down today. After trailing 1-0, the Terps stormed back to score 3 times in the 2nd half. Nicole Muracco and Emma Thomas provided the firepower for the Terps as they move to 12-0.

Senior Emma Thomas dented the nest twice and Katie O’Donnell added a 3rd goal as Alicia Grater put another shut out notch on her record. The Terps as usual outshot their opponent 13-4 with 5 corners. Next up UVA Friday afternnon at 4PM,  just hours before Coach Missy Meharg will enter the Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame.

The No. 1-ranked Maryland field hockey team won its ACC opener Saturday afternoon against No. 9 Boston College, 6-2. Coach Missy Meharg and her reigning NCAA Champions won their season opener  against a strong Ohio squad .All America katie O’Donnell had 1 goal and assisted on 2 goals by Emma Thomas.  Fallston High’s Lindsey Puckett saw her first action.

Normally I would let this pass but what is going on? The NCAA Champs are picked 2nd to UVA and a distant 2nd I might add.  The best player in the country, Katie O’Donnell returns for the Terps and they are picked 2nd. This will not sit well with Missy Meharg.
