This is what I vividly remember about the great George Blanda. There was a stretch one season where it seemed like Blanda either came off the bench as QB to relieve Darryl LaMonica and take the Raiders to victory or he would kick a winning 40 yard plus field goal.  The Raiders would always be the 2nd game of a doubleheader and Sunday evening would always begin with heads shaking.
