After watching Greivis paly International ball, I am even more excited for the Terps’ season to begin. Vasquez was clearly the general on the court shooting and passing and playing unselfish ball. He literally kept his team in the game with 3 late 3’s.

I never like to overanalyze a schedule before the season, but this years Terrapin schedule is pretty typical. It has the usual run of 7 games before New Year’s that should be in the win column. Funny thing is that in the past few a loss in any of the 7 has been viewed as a disaster. Keith Cavanaugh and terrapintimes.com reported tonite at 11:04 PM that Mychal Parker a major target of Maryland’s coaching staff will announce his intention to attend the University of Maryland sometime Thursday and join the 2010 recruiting class. University of Maryland senior Greivis Vasquez was among the student-athletes named Wednesday as a preseason candidate for the 2009-10 John Wooden Award, given to the men’s basketball national player of the year. Vasquez, a second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as both a sophomore and junior, was among 50 players selected to the preseason list, including 10 players from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
