After watching Greivis paly International ball, I am even more excited for the Terps’ season to begin. Vasquez was clearly the general on the court shooting and passing and playing unselfish ball. He literally kept his team in the game with 3 late 3’s.
I never like to overanalyze a schedule before the season, but this years Terrapin schedule is pretty typical. It has the usual run of 7 games before New Year’s that should be in the win column. University of Maryland senior Greivis Vasquez was among the student-athletes named Wednesday as a preseason candidate for the 2009-10 John Wooden Award, given to the men’s basketball national player of the year. Vasquez, a second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection as both a sophomore and junior, was among 50 players selected to the preseason list, including 10 players from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

A.J. Casario signed with the White Sox on June 23rd, and is on the Bristol White Sox, one of the two rookie league affiliates Chicago has.
