After Saturday’s disastrous prediction, I now have seen the light and realize Detroit is the superior team and will lock up its second consecutive Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh. While momentum really hasn’t played a part in this series so far and the home team has won every game, this will change tonight. The Stanley Cup finals return to Detroit tonight as the Penguins look to keep their winning streak alive. The Pens are younger, more energetic and have momentum on their side. Evgeni Malkin is playing the best hockey he’s played in these playoffs.Sid the Kid will step up tonight, and there will be a changing of the guard as #87 leads his team to victory. Look for Pittsburgh to close out the series on their own ice in game six.
Alex Ovechkin scored one and assisted on the tying goal, but the Penquins avoided disaster, winning in overtime on a deflected goal. Have no fear, as long as Varlamov is stellar in goal the Caps victory is only a matter of when. Sidney Crosby assisted on 2 goals for Pittsburgh. The series resumes Friday night.
