The body language says it all. Every golfers has these streaks where nothing goes right—but not Tiger. What was showed from Tiger this week was horrific. Lefty shot 78 today. The Ryder Cup is in 7 weeks. Corey Pavin is the Captain not Zinger. Tiger looks doubtful to eeven be on the team. Phil continues to choke in the final round. I’m afraid it might be a long 3 … Read More »
Not a great showing for the USA. I can only wish that the bad weather night doesnt filter into Wales and give the USA fits. Wouldn’t you be more comfortable with Zinger at the helm. I would!!
With a 5 hour time difference between here and Britain/Scotland, I often wondered why the coverage didn’t start until 8 AM. The competition at 5AM–the Sham Wow guy. So tonight if I can’t sleep, I can watch the British Open.
A 5 under 66, was enough to bring Tiger back into contention but 6’4″ Dustin Johnson who seemingly has mastered Pebble Beach goes into Sunday with a 4 shot lead over Tiger . I am sticking with my Saturday morning pick of Dustin Johnson.
It should be an utterly spectacular weekend of golf on the tube. I still like Anthony Kim to capture his first major.
DOWN GOES TIGER! DOWN GOES TIGER! DOWN GOES TIGER! In maybe the greatest upset since Upset beat Man O War, Y.E. Yang defeated Tiger Woods in essentially match play at the PGA Championship at Halzeltine National. Y.E. Yang? I say why not Y.E. Yang. For the first time in a Major which Tiger had the lead after 54 holes someone stood up to the world’s greaest golfer and beat him. Yang’s 2nd shot on 18 yesterday was truly one of … Read More »
My good friend Michael Bronfein predicted over lunch that too much talk of 8 for 8 in majors when holding the lead after 36 and 14 for 14 when doing the same after 54 holes, would finally catch up with Tiger. For 4 days Tiger missed birdie putt after birdie putt and then 2 spectacular shots by Yang finally did him in. Rest Assured , Eldrick will be back on top sooner then you can say 2010 Masters.

It’s time to put an asterisk next to the 2 Majors Paddy Harrington won last year in Tiger’s absence. Yesyerday , he was paired up with Eldrick and was going along great until he attempted an idiotic flop shot on 16 that bounced his chances into a watery grave. What in the world was he thinking. The PGA is up this week and I will have Pat Coyner on the show Wednesday to make his predictions.
What can anyone say? 59 year old Tom Watson was down to the last shot he had to make to win–a 180 yard fairway shot to the green. He chose one club too many and the rest is history. Watson certainly captued the imagination of the entire world. The missed putt on 18 for Watson was hard to watch as pressure got the better of him. For Cink it was his first major.
Can the greatest Links player in the history of golf hold on? Who could be the spoiler? My gut instincts tell me Jim Furyk or Stewart Cink could destroy the hopes of every Senior golfer in the land.Watson tees off at 9:20 AM–let’s hope at 1:30 we are watching him walk up 18 victorious.
