  • Dennis K Has Early Preview of Potential Ravens Draft Pickes

    Bruce,

Just wanted you to know that I’ve been studying the draft. Here I’ve compiled picks from 45 drafts to see who people are projecting us to select when it’s our turn on the board. Here’s what they are saying:

1st Round: Alec Ogletree, MLB Georgia (7), CJ Mosley, ILB Alabama (5), Matt Elam, S Florida (4), Kevin Minter, ILB LSU (3), Barrett Jones, OL Alabama (2), Eric Fisher, OT Cenral Mich (2), Alex Okafor, OLB Texas (2), TJ McDonald, FS USC (2), Eric Reid, S LSU (2), Jonathan Cooper, G NC (2), Anthony Barr, OLB UCLA, Brandon Coleman, WR Rutgers, Tony Jefferson, S Oklahoma, Robert Woods, WR USC, Jackson Jeffcoat, DE Texas, Bradley Roby, CB Ohio State, Khalil Mack, OLB Buff, Jarvis Jones, OLB Georgia, DeAndred Hodges, WR Clemson, Cordarelle Patterson, WR Tenn, Jess Williams, NT Alabama.

2nd Round: Kevin Minter, MLB LSU (2), Da’Rick Rogers, WR Tenn Tech (2), Baccari Rambo, FS Georgia, Jordan Poyer, CB Oregon St., John Jenkins, NT Georgia, Bernie Logan, DE/DT LSU, Larry Warford, G Kentucky, Xavier Rhodes, CB FSU, Sylvester Williams, DE NC, Datone Jones, DE UCLA.

3rd Round: Shane Skov, ILB Stanford (2), Robert Lester, S Alabama, Tyrann Mathieu, CB LSU, Brandon Williams, DT Miss South St., Michael Buchanan, OLB Ill.

4th Round: Michael Williams, TE Alabama, Jonathan Bostic, ILB Florida

5th Round: Zach Boren, FB Ohio State

6th Round: Aaron Tipoti, DT Cal

7th Round: Ray Polk, S Colorado

FFToolbox’s members put Alec Ogletree @ 13.6% of being picked by the Ravens in the 1st round, 10% for CJ Mosley and 4.3% for Eric Reid.

It looks like the concensus is that we are going to pick a defensive player, Lewis’ or Reed’s replacement. I’d like to see us focus on a “trench” draft. Protecting our QB and getting after their’s seems like a good plan to me. I’ve always thought that the best way to build a team was from the inside out – lines first!
