Say It Ain’t So–Q Traded To The 49ers

I guess the Ravens meant what they said. It looks like Kruger ($12 Million to the Colts), Ellerbe ($6+ miliion to the Browns) will be gone.  My own thoughts are if you pay #5 120 million don’t you have to surround him with the right guys?

But then I look at the Patriots –the list of guys they have released over the years was swelled exponentially with the oncoming release of the best slot receiver in football, Wes Welker. Wes will catch 100 passes for whoever he signs with. Remember we love the team –not the players. I don’t blame any player one bit for squeezing the last dollar out of the system. Furthermore, I only wish Q the best of luck. If the Ravens can’t repeat, I only hope Q takes his team to the promised land. Anquan helped give Bmore a going away present and for that, he joins Trent Dilfer in Ravens lore.

Now for the other side of the coin. Don’t be shocked to see what Ozzie, DeCosta, Harbaugh, and Caldwell have up their sleeve. This story has just begun. I say this will all my heart, as long as Joe Flacco is the QB the Ravens will always be competitive and in contention.liito the Browns) will be gone.  My own thoughts are if you pay #5 120 million don’t you have to surround him with the right guys?

PS—Can’t wait to buy the DVD tomorrow.

you have to think the ravens have spent countless hours looking a moves that need to be made because of the salary cap and countless hours looking over players that will be available probably because those players were salary cap casualties. most fans want to keep this team together because they feel the ravens can repeat. first of all it’s hard to repeat even if you have the same team coming back. so many things have to go right at the right time for a team to get to the super bowl and win it. guys like bouldin, reed, mckinnie are short term because of their age. kruger had a good partial season which took off when suggs came back. if you make moves for the short term for next year those moves could compromise your position for the next few years. so combining the fact that is hard to repeat, and many players are not going to help you in the long run it’s time to move on, maybe bring in one or two guys short term who will be cheaper than the players you have now and most of the new aquisitions should be for the long term good of the team so you don’t have a team drop off to 5-11 or 6-10 for a couple of years. if you stockpile a lot of short term guys and don’t win now the next few years could be trouble
