Dylan Maltz has been granted a release from Syracuse University and plans to enroll at Maryland for the fall, according to the sophomore attackman’s family.
Maltz, ranked the sixth best attackman and the 18th overall player in the 2013 high school class by Inside Lacrosse, appeared in six games this past spring for the Orange, notching three goals and an assist, including an important goal in Syracuse’s 12-10 win over Johns Hopkins.
Maltz, an Under Armour All-American in 2013, left Stone Bridge, Va., as the school’s all-time leader in goals (190), assists (130), points (320) and ground balls (198).
