Jay Carlson notched his first hat trick of the season to lead the No. 10 Maryland men’s lacrosse team to a 12-3 victory over Drexel on Saturday afternoon at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.
Meeting for the first time since 1943, the Dragons jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Maryland (3-1) defense buckled down to hold them scoreless for 56:17. The Terps scored 12 unanswered during the Drexel’s scoring drought, which was the longest since Maryland held Penn scoreless for 51:12 in 2008.
