Terps Advance to the Sweet 16 –AGAIN–After Rolling over Princeton 85-70 Before 8000 at Xfinity Center

Senior Laurin Mincy saved her finest moment for her last game at Xfinity Center and led the Terps to victory over previously unbeaten Princeton.  Mincy was 9-11 from the field, 6-6 on treys, had 4 rebounds and 7 assists and 27 points.

Super sophomore Lexie Brown chipped in with 23 points including 5 treys.

It was a tremendous atmosphere at this nationally televised game. Princeton hung tough with Maryland in the 1st half trailing 42-38. Bur the Terps came out of the locker room for the 2nd half and put the game out of reach with a 15-2 run. Waiting for the TV timeout, the Princeton coach allowed Maryland to enlarge the gap before finally calling a TO. By then the game was virtually out of reach.

Brionna Jones was quiet in the 1st 1st half barely touching the ball. But everything changed as she took over the game with 10 points and 9 rebounds in the 2nd half.

So now the Terps head out to the Spokane regional to face none other then Duke. Brenda downplayed the significance of the opponent but I have a hunch that ESPN will make this a big story. The game is on for 4:30 saturday afternoon.
