When Brenda was asked about playing Duke after last Monday’s win vs Princeton, she avoided the answer just talking about a sweet 16 game. But we all know better. Duke’s Coach McCallie is the coach who was highly critical of Maryland and its fane base a few years back. If you watched closely she barely shook hands with Brenda, who happens to be a first class sport in victory or defeat. So now its 26 wins in a row and Tennessee is our last obstacle to another Final Four appearance. Tipoff is Monday night at 9PM on ESPN.

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 18 of her 24 points in the second half, Laurin Mincy scored all 15 of her points in the first half and top-seeded Maryland advanced to the Spokane Regional final with a 65-55 victory over No. 4 seed Duke on Saturday.
Walker-Kimbrough took over the scoring load carried by Mincy in the first half as the Terrapins (33-2) reached the Elite Eight for the sixth time under coach Brenda Frese, taking down their former foe from the ACC in the process. Maryland is 2-0 against the Blue Devils in the NCAA tournament.
“Just tremendously proud of our fight today,” Frese said. “It wasn’t an easy game. I thought that Duke kind of controlled some things in terms of kind of putting us into a half court team, but I thought we did a phenomenal job in the second half.”
