Terrapin Nine Sweeps Nebraska Coming Back from 5-0 Deficit to Win 6-5

Freshman Kevin Smith hit a game tying two-run homer in the seventh and scored the winning run in the ninth as the No. 17 Maryland baseball team rallied past No. 18 Nebraska for a 6-5 win and a series sweep at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium Sunday.

After falling behind by five runs in the first two innings, the Terrapins (22-7, 7-2) scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth before Smith’s two-run home run in the seventh. Junior Alex Robinson pitched two spotless innings to relief in a tie ballgame before Smith scored from second on an error to win it in the ninth.
