UConn Just Too Strong for The Terps —Final 81-58

Final Comments on a Miraculous season for the Terps that Ended Sort of Predictably:

Whatever chance the Terps had to pull the upset ended quickly with 2 early ticky tack fouls on Brionna Jones combined with a few other questionable calls. I wonder if Brenda ever thought to throw caution to the wind and play Brionna with 2 fouls

The Terps finished with 13 assists and 13 turnovers, not a horrible amount

Lexie Brown had but 1 turnover in 38 minutes and drove the bucket well

If you would have told me that Mosqueda-Lewis would have finished 1-8 from the field, I would have liked our chances. That only proves how great this UConn team is. As I perceived the 1st time I saw her play, Brianna Stewart might turn out to be the best women’s player ever. She can do it all as Charley Eckman used to say.

Brene Moseley came off the bench to score 12 for the Terps.

The bottom line is this: the Terps finished the year 34-3, went 21-0 in Big Ten play, won the Big Ten Title, made it to the Final Four, have everyone but Laurin Mincy returning, and provided Terrapin nation with a thrilling season. may I not forget beat Duke soundly in the Sweet 16.

Congrats to Brenda for a fantastic year.

great season for the lady terps.

how does md move up to be able to compete with uconn?

that is going to be hard because md is a final 4 team and you would think that is a good as it gets. and md’s recruiting classes are always ranked very high.

truth is as good as md is i don’t think one player for the terps could start for uconn. uconn won by 25 and didn’t play their best game.

i guess md needs to find a couple of 6-3 to 6-5 girls who have multiple skills and are both athletic. this is no knock on jones or howard, who are both outstanding players, but uconn’s bigs are on a different level.

md needed mincy, brown and walker-kimbrough to all play their a game. it didn’t happen. but nonetheless, a great season for the lady terps.

we have wings and guards who are good enough. uconn is amazing.

hopefully going to back to back final 4’s get the eye of a couple

Big fan of your show, totally agree with sentiment. You and your guests are always very knowledgeable sports fans and being from MD but living in FL I really try and catch your broadcast when ever possible. I know you have mentioned on several occasions that complaining about officiating is not the way to go. I generally agree with this statement, however, in both the men’s and women’s NCAA tourney losses I feel compelled to mention that (true in all life) we don’t exist in a vacuum. What transpires around us affects are success or failure as much as our own effort. As a physician I can tell you that professionals in multiple disciplines often have to justify their actions. I hope the same applies to those individuals who made the calls in that game. I know bad calls do not just happen to the team that I root for, just look at what happened in the UCLA game.
