Agent Zero Keeps His Word and Signs 6 Year Deal with Wizards

I know that I have been negative on Gilbert’s resigning with the Wizards but I have to admit that he did keep his word, by reducing the offered contract by 16 million. About one month ago, Gilbert said he would take less and resign if and only if the Wizards resigned Antawn.  So within 72 hours of Jamison’s signing, Arenas rejected the 6 year max contract (127 million) offered by Ernie Grunfeld and agreed to a 6 year deal worth $111 million.  This should free up about 16 million to try and sign Roger Mason.  Everyone in the organization believes the Wizards are ready to make a strong run for the Eastern Championship.  Time and injuries will tell!!! Brian Sereno, PR Director for the Wizards should be on Terp Talk this Thursday to discuss the Arenas signing.
