Showdown at 9PM Tonight: Duke Comes To Our House

With Maryland seeking its greatest set of back to back victories perhaps in Terrapin history, Coach K and his Devils with new Freshman wonder Eliot Williams strut into Comcast tonight thinking they are invicible. After piling it on the Terps by 41, and declaring Nolan Smith was the answer to the previous failures of point guard Greg Paulus, Coach K has had a change of heart and is now going with Freshman Eliot Williams at the point. Supposedly  he will shut down Greivis, this all based after a superb performance against powerhouse St John’s. Of course Wake’s Jeff Teague hung 28 on Duke Sunday night.  Senior guard Greg Paulus is buried in Coach K’s bench seeing only 9 minutes Sunday night. What will we see from Gary tonight?

I can’t guess because Gary is impossible to figure out. But I believe the pain of that loss at Duke will fire up both the team and crowd into a frenzy the likes of which we haven’t seen at Comcast. That includes the great win on Saturday against the Tar Heels.

Coach K will regret running up the score at Durham. If the miracle happens, I will definitely quiz Coach K about this fact.

When I was at the Duke game at Cameron, everyone said that Zoubek had a career game against the Terps. believe me this team is beatable though it does seem inconceivable that the Terps can turn around a 41 point deficit.

Keys to the game for the Terps:

Landon and Sean must rediscover their offense

We cannot let Duke explode out of the gate. In the past, this is how Duke has won at maryland. Keep it close and the fans will lift the team to victory.

Eric Hayes must find his hot hand. There is no reason not to expect this. Greivis needs to keep the turnovers to a minimum.
