Duke Edges Maryland 67-61 Advance to ACC Title Game–Terps Await Selection Sunday

In the end Duke shot 21 free throws to Maryland’s 9 and outscored the Terps 12-2 in a late game run. Eric Hayes kept the Terps within striking distance with his 20 points and stellar floor leadership. Greivis added 14 as Duke double teamed him constantly. So where does that leave Maryland, according to Joe Lunardi the Terps are in. The Terps still have to sweat out the selection. I will be at Comcast tonight and will provide  interviews on my website late Sunday night. Some of my observations:

Duke did a great job of frustrating Greivis with its constant switching.

If you would have told me Singler and Gerald Henderson  would combined be 6-26, I would have guaranteed a Terp victory.

After Eric missed that 3 with 2 minutes left the game was over for everyone except Eric Hayes.

This team has really turned itself into a competitive one , since the road loss at Duke.

JOE LUNARDI HAS  MARYLAND as the first team in on the bubble.  Jerry Palm from CBS Sportsline ha picked Maryland as a 11 seed to play against   Xavier in Round1 with Villanova in the wings.
