I have to admit I was a little surprised, when I heard Coach Calipari was deserting Memphis for one of the ultimate jobs in America, Coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. Let’s see, the brilliant Kentucty faithful dumped Tubby Smith after 1 title and 5 elite eight finishes in 9 years. Along came Billy Gillespie who flopped and now it is Calipari’s turn. John is getting 35 million for 8 years, my guess is he fails after 4 and gets bought out in his 5th season. Calipari will not have a creampuff conference schedule like he did at UMass and Memphis. Time will tell.
