Well at long last Donald Sterling might have the necessary ingredients to make a run at the NBA title. I saw him at Kansas City and I was never more impressed with a player in the past decade then Blake Griffin. Monday night he was incredible in the NBA Summer league. With NBA commissioner David Stern sitting courtside at the Thomas & Mack Center, the 6-foot-10 Griffin went 6 of 6 from the field in the first half and didn’t miss a shot until the third quarter. He finished 11 of 15 from the field and played 29 minutes. Griffin has it all –new school fastbreaking and old school turnaround bank shots a la The Stilt. Now we hear that the Clippers are in deep negotiations with the Answer, Allen Iverson. Combine AI with Griffin, Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, etc and you might just have a winner.
Freddy in chilly Boca
Iverson would hurt the Clippers not help. here’s a team with a solid inside player in Marcus Camby who will get some much needed help from Blake Griffin. You have two outstanding young players in Al Thornton and Eric Gordon and a solid point guard in Baron Davis. Iverson is too selfish and if you noticed Denver took off after Iverson was traded away and the Pistons couldn’t wait to get him off the roster. Iverson would take time away from Gordon who needs to play and deserves to play. The present and future is better served with Gordon in the Clippers backcourt, not with Iverson. However the way the Clippers organization has been run for years signing Iverson wouldn’t surprise me because this franchise knows only how to lose.
