NCAA Honors Terrapins as One of the Top 10 Programs in the Country

From umterps.com comes the following:

As part of a summer series, the NCAA.com is taking a look at programs across the nation that earned multiple national championships during the 2008-09 season. In its fifth installment, author Kevin Scheitrum takes a look at Maryland’s titles in field hockey and men’s soccer, giving the Terrapins a historic fall season to remember.

Based on its two national titles, five Atlantic Coast Conference team championships and 18 teams that reached the postseason, the NCAA News has honored Maryland as one of the Top 10 programs in the nation for the year.  Director of athletics Deborah A. Yow, field hockey head coach Missy Meharg and men’s soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski are quoted in the story, which is available at this link.
