Everything was the same at Camden Yards last night. Red Sox nation invaded and probably had 25.000 of the 44,000 in attendance. Poppy went deep. The Red Sox won. Oriole fans split after the team failed to deliver in the 8th. It was another meaningless loss for the O’s and another step towards the playoffs for Boston.
But something WAS different. Poppy looked sullen and not his usual self. Theo Epstein is turning gray quickly unable to justify the effect of drugs on 2 Worlsd Championship teams. After all its Manny and Poppy –the heart and soul of the team. There wasn’t much zip in the dugout. Doubt is everywhere. IS THE CURSE REALLY OVER?
