An early second half goal by sophomore Jasmyne Spencer lifted the University of Maryland women’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory at American Wednesday afternoon. With the win the Terps remain undefeated in 2009 with a 6-0 record.
“American is a good team and they put 10 players behind the ball and made it difficult for us,” said Maryland head coach Brian Pensky. “Good teams find ways to win on not so crisp days. And today we were not so crisp. But, I’m proud of our determination, and out defending, as we made it difficult for American to get anything going in the attack.”The Terps put their undefeated record on the line again on Sunday, Sept. 13 when they host James Madison at 1 p.m. at Ludwig Field.
