Ashton Pankey ,6’9 PF From St Anthony’s Coming To Midnite Madness!!!!

Straight from terrapintimes.com comes the good news that after Gary was very pleased with watching St Anthony’s forward Ashton Pankey , he will making his official visit to College Park Oct 16, the night of midnite madness. Here is a synopsis of Pankey from ESPN and Scouts Inc

July, 2009: Pankey is a gifted athlete with good length, agility, and a motor that has become more consistent with experience. He’s an excellent offensive rebounder, good for a couple of tip-ins per game with a quick first and second bounce. He runs well, fills lanes on the break, and finishes explosively above the rim. While he must get stronger, he doesn’t mind contact, and is already a good catch-and-finish player with soft hands. His skill set is still a work in progress but he makes elbow jumpers and shows the occasional flash with his back to the basket. Defensively, he uses his length to get into passing lanes, challenge shots, or block shots from the weak-side, and has the lateral quickness to potentially defend multiple positions.

Scout, Inc has Pankey rated as 36th top power forward in the 2010 class. Not the 36th top player but 36th best power forward. Tobias Harris was number 2. C.J. Leslie was number 3.
