This Weekend in the Terrapin World

Just a quick summary of non football Terrapin news.

Forward Dee Liles is off the Women’s Basketball roster due to academic issues.

#22 Women’s Soccer defeated Duke on Sunday 4-0 moving its record to 9-2.

The #2 Men’s Soccer team suffered another 2-0 shutout to Duke, suffering it’s 3rd loss of the season all nby the same score. The absence of Casey Townsend Saturday certainly is hurting Maryland’s finishing ability.

Kristin Reed and Alex Lundy each earned individual titles and the University of Maryland women earned the team championship Friday at the Great American XC Festival collegiate races held at the WakeMed Park. The event was held on the same course that will host the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships later this month. Reed won the women’s 5-kilometer race in 17:47, earning a 16-second victory over Mary Kate Dubard of Georgia Tech. It was the second individual title of the season for the Terrapin senior and gave her three top-three finishes in her three races this fall. (from umterps.com)

Dee Liles being out hurts; she was huge down the stretch last year. Also, the Terps only have one active upperclassmen, so I hope they can still gel together despite the lack of veterans. The talent is there, the question will be the leadership and experience factors.
