Gary just can NOT pull a 5 star to save his life.
I still just don’t see it though. Tenn? To play in the ACC in a major TV market, just doesn’t appeal to some of these kids I guess.
But, MD will continue to be above average, but never great because he can NOT land that last piece. It’s frustrating.
I’ll feel better once Parker and Ross sign their LOI. I have heard rumblings that Ross is thinking of changing his mind.
That would be a crippling blow to Gary. Take Ross away, and the class is just mediocre at best.
Give gary a break he did every legal thing possible to get harris at md. He doesnt break the rules and isnt going 2 let a 6’8 player run the o thats not gary and rember dixon and baxter and blake werent top 20 recruits he knows what he is doing

Who broke the rules? You can’t just say every time Gary can’t get a blue chip player that, “they broke the rules”. You don’t know that Tenn. broke any rules.
Again, I don’t know that I really care that Harris isn’t here. I am worried that Ross will NOT be.
The point is, and I don’t care what the reasoning is, Gary just CAN NOT GET A 5 STAR.
Leslie, Jones, Harris. It is the reason we get so close, but can not win with any kind of consistency.
It doesn’t make any sense really, because it is not like these other teams that land them are better programs. There HAS to be something that is not getting done in the recruiting process.
MD is the 3rd winningest team in ACC behind Duke and UNC. They are based in the Balt. Washington media market, which is the 5th largest in the USA.
He knocks off more #1’s than anyone. (Although recently, we can lose to American or Morgan St. just as easily as beat UNC).
I don’t know why they won’t come here. But, to be the best and beat the best….to get back to the top 5 consistently, you have GOT to have a top PF. And we just can NOT get it.
Maybe Padgett and Williams will develop, but I just wish they could have a supply of them coming in every couple years.
I see this as a dropping of the ball a little bit. When you get in the top 5 of the #1 PF in the country, occassionally, you would like to land him. Gary just can’t do it for some reason.
And I don’t think you can just say, “We don’t cheat”.

Terrence Ross might not be rated a 5 star but I assure you he isphenomenal. If you get a chance get over to Montrose to see him this year.
