I only mention this game for one reason —Kentucky’s Freshman Guard John Wall is clearly the best guard in the country. Put him down as the #1 NBA pick today. If Calipari can’t win the title with this team, he should be immediatedly dismissed. Gary would never win by less then 20 with this cast.
Gary would never have the #1 gaurd in the country. Gary can’t land a top 25 player even. So, Gary would actually never win 1 game with that cast.
This Nova game is really going to point out just how bad the MD program is. Cuz this is the last game we have to try to build some decent resume stuff for the NCAA. Not that that is going to happen either. This team just ISN”T a team that can win 9 games in ACC play.
6-10 and an NIT bid. Ross then ofcourse backs out of his Verbal, and we are having the same talk next year about what happen to the golden days.
Here is what happen. Gary got extremely lucky with Dixon and Wilcox. Dixon flew under everyones radar, and just happen to go to MD. Wilcox wanted to go to UNC but didn’t committ in time, and they had a full scholarship plate for 2000.
Gary couldn’t capitalize on the back to backs, and here we are. 10 years later and right in the middle. MD is short for mediocrity.
