Judgement Day Verdict is In—-Hung Jury—New Trial Next Week in Oakland

I have a video tape of the Colts Jets game from 1969–the Namath Guarantee Super Bowl. Well, when I watched the game again it was clear the then Baltimore Colts should have scored at least 5 touchdowns. Yesterday it felt like it was a replay of that game. Three touchdowns were eliminated –2 by penalties and 1 by a dropped ball of a lofted pass that most high school receivers could have handled. Up and down the field the Ravens marched — coming up empty time and time again.—Some comments:

It might have taken most of the season but Dominique Foxworth has been a serious playmaker the last 2 weeks. A ridiculous penalty on #55 took away a potential game changing TD by #24.

Why does Flacco not get rid of the ball quicker when he can’t find a receiver. This is becoming a major problem.

I can live with the penalties trying to help the team score or rush the passer but the 2 unsportsmanlike calls -are inexcusable. One took us out of FG position and possibly cost us the game.

The Ravens have to be the luckiest team in the NFL to botch up a playoff clinching victory and get another chance next week.

11 penalties —3 turnovers —how dd we not lose by 20?

Harbaugh is aging fast. Play selection at critical junctures has been weak. The lack of discipline on this team has to fall on his shoulders. Yet at times this team looks great. The coaching staff has dealt with a plethora of injuries and maintained competetive games no matter the opponent. If somehow we beat Oakland, there is no reason we can’t make another run. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I just watched the highlights of the game and the Ravens, missing Jared Gaither, ran for 175 yards against the best rushing defense in the NFL. Ray Rice, minus an occasional fumble, has been stupendous. When you can run the ball, you can beat anyone.

Does Frank Walker ever defend without committing interference? Do the Ravens foul excessively?

Billy Cundiff escaped a Judgement day kick down the wire.

Parmalee looked great returning kicks.

It’s good to see Todd Heap is not finished.

Minus the stupid penalites, this team is really fun to watch but should they lose to Oakland it will be a loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggg off season.

In regards to yesterday’s game , if the Ravens were a basketball team just about everyone would have fouled out. The Steelers would have been in the one and one within 3 min. of each quarter. The Ravens have a must game against a bad team next week. The Ravens are a mediocre team. Next week’s game is far from a gimme. When mediocre teams play “must” games they lose more times than they win.
