Maryland opened the game with a 13-4 run including a nine point performance by sophomore Kim Rodgers before the first media timeout to claim the title of the Terrapin Classic. The Terps defeated the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks 67-61 in the final game of the tournament. Maryland’s own Lynetta Kizer was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after her double-double performance against Stony Brook (13 points/10 rebounds) and her double-digit points scored against UNC-Wilmington. Loni Bjork also had a big part in the Terps’ performance shooting a season high-tying four treys before the first half was over. (from umterps.com)
