Sasho Hires Dello-Russo As Assistant Coach

Maryland men’s soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski has announced the hiring of former Terrapin standout Michael Dello-Russo as assistant coach, announced Monday.

Dello-Russo, who played for Maryland from 2001-2005, was a two-time captain for Cirovski and was instrumental in guiding the Terps to their first national championship since 1968 as a senior in 2005. The center back, who started all 25 matches for the Terps, aided Maryland to 11 shutouts that season. The Columbia, Md., native finished his career with 20 assists, the 11th highest mark in Maryland men’s soccer history. Dello-Russo also landed in the Terps’ single season record book, boasting 10 assists in 2004, a tally that is tied for eighth all-time. Maryland advanced to the NCAA Tournament every year Dello-Russo was in College Park, including four trips to the College Cup.
